All the Pic's Collage!

Welcome to Picadai because Pic-a-day was taken :(

The purpose of this blog is to help me improve my camera skills. The goal is to post one pic per day for the year and beyond (!). Hopefully the quality of the pic's will improve along with the content.

Feb 25th Pic!

"Chris Vs. My Camera"

As I write this I'm in terrible pain...eating Wasabi coated peas from Trader Joe's is not a good idea. They're delicious but the Wasabi coating is uneven and varies pea to pea, as a Quality Control manager I take particular offense to this. I just bit into a pea that was 95% Wasabi and 5% Pea, the optimal Pea to Wasabi ratio is 5% Wasabi and 95% Pea. I'm usually happy with 80-20 ratio at best. I highly recommend the Wasabi coated Pea's from Joe's but just be careful because it's like a crack addition that can make you cry at times.

The objective of the pic above was the capture the Tennis ball in motion, i.e the ball in Mid-air and in perfect focus, while Chris in the background out of focus. You may be shocked to find out that the pic above is not the pic I described, in fact if you look closely there isn't even a ball in the pic! ...I know you're blown away! I took only 4 pics before I realized I'd just rather kick some ass at Tennis (which I did, before we got kicked out) than spend 2 hours trying to get that shot and possibly break my lens.

Speaking of Lenses, there are new cameras coming out that don't use Mirrors like traditional DSLR's, and one can still use their current glass (stock of lenses) to outfit the new cameras via adapters. The new technology is being dubbed EVIL (no joke!). The Camera companies say that most posers (me) only use kit lenses (the lens that comes with the camera) and don't generally upgrade, so they only need these smaller cameras that shoot higher resolution.

...you just learned something about technology today, you're welcome! ...you can print and frame this as your diploma cuz you've just been schooled....I'm done now.

Wired article on death of DSLR Camera Tech :(     Also Google DSLR vs EVIL and you'll find more info.

If that's not your cup of tea here is a link to the review of the movie "Valentines Day" By Roger Ebert  :)
